Trust, security, and data protection.
What consumers should know about allowing brands to use your photos and videos. Our platform is built to be safe and trusted by both sides — the people who create content, and the brands who want to share it.
Know your rights
Keep these in mind when taking, tagging, uploading, and sharing photos and videos.
Why brands want your content
Real photos and videos of products and experiences are the most trusted form of marketing — they help other shoppers make confident decisions.
Nothing is used without your permission
Posting with a brand hashtag signals interest, but it isn't consent. A brand must ask — usually in a comment — and you must explicitly agree before your content is ever used.
You own your copyright
A photo or video you take is your creation, and the copyright stays with you. Granting usage permission never transfers ownership.
Trust is not a best practice — it's the only practice
Protecting your relationship with your fans is the top priority. Respecting the rights of the people who create about your brand is how that relationship — and your content library — stays valuable.
- Every asset is used with explicit, documented consent
- Consumers can change their minds — content from profiles made private is removed from brand libraries unless explicit rights exist
- Data change and deletion requests are honored via privacy@socialnative.com
